The skeleton of the I-inductor is supported by the winding of the copper core coil. The commonly used I-inductors are regarded as the vertical version of axial inductors, and the application is convenient and similar to axial inductors, but the commonly used I-inductors can have a larger volume of inductors, and the current can naturally be improved to a certain extent. Most of them are enameled wire (or gauze wire) directly wrapped around the skeleton, and then the magnetic core or copper core, iron core, etc. is loaded into the inner cavity of the skeleton to improve its inductance. The skeleton is usually made of plastic, bakelite, ceramic, and can be made into different shapes according to actual needs.
Small inductors (such as I-inductors) generally do not use a skeleton, but directly wrap the enamelled wire around the magnetic core.
